Paintings by Kamal Mousawi

Kamal Mousawi was born in Nassria, on the edges of the marshes in 1947, where he still resides and paints. He graduated from the Fine Arts Institute in Baghdad in 1972. He has held a series of one-man exhibitions in Iraq and some of his paintings have been exhibited at the Iraqi Museum.

Nature Iraq has obtained over 40 paintings from Mr. Mousawi. Below the image of each painting is its price and dimensions. The proceeds from the sale of these paintings will be used to equip a fine arts studio in the Marshes Conference and Research Center currently being planned by the Iraqi Ministry of Culture. The center is to be constructed close to Chibaish, the economic center of the former marshes, in an area recently restored. The center will be used to house various research facilities associated with the University of Basrah and Dhi Qar (Nassria) as well as the Ministry of Environment.
